Yes people, winter has finally come to the South! First time I've seen this much snow in years! It's been snowing steadily sense about 10:00 this morning. This was after about 3 and 1/2 hours of snow. and It's still coming down hard! My dogs are really enjoying it! Though my older dog, Lacie, is blind and is having a hard time getting around because all the snow is covering up her trails that she follows, she's loving the cold air. Peaches my younger dog is playing in the snow like there is no tomorrow. I think part of it is the fact that she's trying to keep warm. Either way, here are some pictures! Poor Lacie had not a clue where she was when I took this picture... After a couple more of hours of snowing this is how high the snow is. So beautiful! God has created a wonderful winter land for us today! Get out in it and enjoy it!
Happy Snow Day!! Several years ago, I was given a harmonica. I loved that thing so much, and I played it all the time. However, things got busy...and I kinda' forgot I even had it. A couple of weeks ago, our choir director started getting things going for our parent's dinner. This years theme is Western. She asked if anyone played harmonica and here I am...pulling out my old friend and seeing if there is any hope of getting a sound out of it again! I never did like to play my harmonica in front of people, and it was one of those instruments that very few friends knew I played, but I guess it's time to bring it out the wood work! I'm having loads of fun with it!
You know when you get really busy and you just go and go and go and then finally you stop for a second and realize that you are extremely exhausted, worn to a frazzle, and simply not wanting to finish the day, and to top it off, you've forgotten to have devotions which has left you spiritually dry and possibly grumpy?.... Well you aren't alone...I had one of those kinds of days yesterday. This morning I'm also really busy, but I knew I had to have a good time of devotions with my Lord. I was reading through Daniel, (probably currently one of my favorite books of the Bible....) Anyways, I was really encouraged. God used Daniel in some mighty ways, showing God's power and His ability to take any situation and show Himself strong. As I was thinking about this, it brought me back to church on Sunday. The sermon was on brokenness. God can use our brokenness for His glory. When we sin, yes, God is grieved, but our sin doesn't hold God back from His will. He often uses the consequences of our sin as part of his plan. God is bigger than all of our problems, all the stuff we have to do, and all of the drama and emotional wreckage we all have. If you are feeling overwhelmed, take a deep breath and a moment to realize and remember that our Sovereign God IS in control. God is so good!
Happy Tuesday everyone! May God fill you with His presence and joy today! Today, several friends and I got together to surprise our dear friend Courtney for her 21st Birthday! She had absolutely no idea, and I think we pretty well shocked her! Her face was priceless! After we had lunch we headed over to do some bowling! (Something I had never done before) I did terrible, but the important thing is that I had a ton of fun, and hopefully Courtney did too! Happy Birthday Courtney! Hope this next year is the BEST YEAR YET!
