My blog is getting the brunt of the neglect aspect that comes with college life. I do realize that my post have been few and far between but I really do have a great reason! I'm spending a bunch of time sitting at my desk doing homework. I will give a bit of an update of what's been going on beside school. Last weekend my youth choir at church had a Young At Heart dinner and performed the same play that we did earlier in the year for our parents, only this time, our pianist was gone so I along with a couple of other girls had to pick up where she left off. It was a lot of work but a ton of fun! Slightly stressful at times, but the outcome was fun. Here are a couple of pictures from the evening. And last but not least here are a couple of music books and reading books that I have been enjoying lately! The first music book is a piano book called "Piano Alive" all the arrangements are written by Ted Cornell. He is an amazing musician and I'm loving trying play the arrangements in the book. The second music book is also a piano book called "Amazing Love" by "Albin C. Whitworth. These arrangements are fairly simple and fun to play! At the beginning of school year I wanted to make sure that I kept in God's word no matter how much school I had to get done. The next two books have really been helping me and have been a great encouragement. The first is "Morning and Evening." This is great for college students because it doesn't take very long just to read one page in the morning and one page in the evening. It gives you a verse to meditate on at the beginning of the day and yet another verse at the end. The perfect way to start and end a busy day. The second book is called "Spiritual Maturity" This book is a book that I am going through with a group of girls at my church. It is a deep book and gives you a lot to think about. I'm not much of a reader, but this book is very much worth the time it takes to read it. Hope everyone has a great weekend and may you be filled with the joy that only our Lord can give!

It's been a year??? WHERE DID THE TIME GO? Yes people, I've had a blog for a year as of today. I started off strong with post and they have slowed down a lot. I apologize, but in my defense, I do have a full time job, and I'm a full time college student. Life is crazy. Thank you to all my faithful reader who take the time to read all my random posts. Happy 1st birthday to my blog! lol! Have an awesome weekend everyone!
God bless! It is hard to believe that the 2014 Flea market in Hillsville, VA has come and gone. It went by so fast! I didn't get as many pictures as last year but I will share a few that I did take! This picture gives a glimpse of just how many vendors there were. This was on Thursday, before all te vendors even got there, AND it is only one small section of the town! The weather was absolutely gorgeous. I just love VA. I said all weekend that I wasn't coming home and that I was just going to stay there....unfortunately I do have responsibilities at home. Friday night we went to a football game! Go Carroll County Cavaliers!!! We won!!!! The sky over the football field was so beautiful. And, of course, no flea market is complete without my Aunt's amazing pancakes and bacon for breakfast. We carried out the yearly tradition of standing in line for these ginormous doughnuts made by a Mennonite company called Aunty Annie's. These things are THE BEST!!! And last but not least, here are some pictures of some of the cool things I found while we were out looking at stuff at the flea market. Ok. You all know how much I LOVE finding deals. Well I got this Origami Owl necklace for half price! So happy with it! It is basically me in a locket! So that's my Labor Day weekend in a nutshell!
I'm so thankful that I got the chance to go and spend time with family and relax in God's country. It was so nice just to take a break from the business of school, work, and just ordinary life. God truly blessed us with a great weekend. Hope everyone is having a blessed week! |
About Me
Hi! My name is Bethany. I'm so glad you've stopped in at my little corner of the internet! By way of introduction, I am a wife, musician, teacher, coffee lover, baker, nature lover, writer, and most importantly, I am a follower of Jesus. I'm super thankful that the Lord has given me this little outlet to share some of the things He has taught me, things that have inspired me, changed me or just gotten me excited about living life. My prayer is that what you read and see here will be an encouragement to your heart, bring you joy, and maybe even inspire you! Archives
