I was going to wait and post this tomorrow, but I figured I'd rather be spending time with Family instead of working on my computer. Luke 2:1-20 1 And it came to pass in those days, that there went out a decree from Caesar Augustus that all the world should be taxed. 2 (And this taxing was first made when Cyrenius was governor of Syria.) 3 And all went to be taxed, every one into his own city. 4 And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was of the house and lineage of David:) 5 To be taxed with Mary his espoused wife, being great with child. 6 And so it was, that, while they were there, the days were accomplished that she should be delivered. 7 And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn. 8 And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by night. 9 And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid. 10 And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11 For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12 And this shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling clothes, lying in a manger. 13 And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 14 Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. 15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us. 16 And they came with haste, and found Mary, and Joseph, and the babe lying in a manger. 17 And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child. 18 And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds. 19 But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart. 20 And the shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things that they had heard and seen, as it was told unto them. I pray that you all have a very merry Christmas celebrating the birth of our Saviour. He is the Reason for the season.
Merry Christmas!!!!

So this is the time of the Christmas season when the pile of presents under the tree really starts to grow. Everyone is finally realizing that Christmas Eve is tomorrow, and the last minute Christmas shopping goes into action. My sisters and I were doing some of this last minute shopping this afternoon, and I've got to tell you, the stores were CROWDED. I guess we weren't the only ones who have put off getting some things until the very last second. I hate to think what it is going to be like tomorrow.
For many people, the presents are one of the only reasons they like Christmas. Many people have forgotten the real reason we give gifts. This Christmas, I am conciously taking time to thank God for the most precious gift ever given. The gift of God's Son in the form of a baby. The Baby that would one day save us from our sins. WOW. So when you are opening you presents this year, don't forget to remember the most important present that God has given us. Getting together with family is one of my favorite parts of Christmas. Having everyone home from school, work, and whatever esle we've all got going on is pretty rare, but the hollidays always seem to bring everyone back. All of my most favorite Christmas memories could never have happened if it hadn't been for my family. This Christmas, I am especially greatful for being able to be with all my family. I can't tell you how special it is to have all my family and extended family together. I can remember Christmases in my grandmothers house when I was little. I remember having everyone together, opening gifts and telling stories. Quite honestly, not much has changed now. If you know my family, you know that when we are together we are pretty much ALWAYS telling stories and laughing till our sides hurt. As I get older, I am realizing how rare it is to have family and extended family that gets along as well as I do with my family. It makes me very thankful that God has given me such wonderful parents, siblings, aunts, uncles, and cousins. I'm pretty sure I have the best family of all time.
I hope ya'll get to spend some quality time with family and enjoy being with each other! Family being together is the best present I could ask for this Christmas! Growing up, my family didn't ever do the whole Santa, stockings...etc. idea...but the idea of Santa is really cool. It originated from St. Nick who secretly gave gifts to people in need. Personally I think this is super cool because Jesus gave us the perfect gift that all of us were in need of. Just like St. Nick, it wasn't a glamorous thing. It was quiet, and very humble. So while I'm not a fan of what the world has turned 'Santa' into, I am a fan of what it started out as. So before you get to opening your stockings on Christmas morning and opening your gifts from 'Santa', just take some time to think about maybe being a secret 'Santa' to someone in need.
Does anyone else have that box of old ornaments that gets pulled out every year and each ornament that cames out of the box brings a new memory!? There are a few ornaments that are my favorite just because they bring back awesome memories of Christmas. So here's just a few pictures of my favorites! Ya'll I can't believe that it is less than 5 days till Christmas!!
