It's crazy how God can change everything around in just one week. A week and a half ago I had no idea what I was going to do with my summer and now I'm about to head out on a new adventure. (More on that later.) All that to say, God has been teaching me about His perfect timing. We, as Christians, are always saying that His timing is perfect but I don't think we truly understand just how perfect it is until we see His hand at work. I just finished reading/listening to 'Trusting God' by Jerry Bridges. It is such a great book and I highly recommend it. About a month ago I had some plans that God closed the door to. At first I was kind of disappointed but then I started getting excited because I knew that God must have something else - something better- in mind for me. Little did I know what He had in store. Little did I know that in His perfect, sovereign timing, He would reopen that door with a few changes that made the entire situation 100x better than I ever thought possible. I'm so grateful to Him that He allowed everything to go by His timeline instead of mine.
So, now to my summer plans! I'm headed to a Christian camp called The Wilds. This camp hosts over 1,000 young people each week for 10 weeks each summer. If you are doing the math, that is over 10,000 young people that, Lord willing, I will have the opportunity to be in contact with. Lord willing I will be working there for the entire summer. I'm super excited and can't wait to see what the Lord is going to do in my life over the next three months. I covet your prayers. *side note* due to my sudden departure, my whole '1 post a week' challenge may not be very realistic, but I will be giving updates every once in a while. 😊

Last weekend I was able to go on a camping trip with my best friend and her family as well as several others from church. It was pretty amazing. It was so relaxing and refreshing. Also, It was great to spend time with a dear friend of mine before we both go our separate ways for the summer. Here's a few pictures from the weekend. One of the best things about camping is waking up to breathtaking views. 😍😍😍 It was absolutely FREEZING that morning so we were all very grateful for the warm fire and yummy hot campfire breakfast food. (Food cooked over and open fire is THE BEST.) I and some of the other girls there walked down to the lake and the fog was rising from it and it was so beautiful. I'm so thankful that God allowed me to get away and spend some time in the beautiful outdoors and spend time with some wonderful people.
This will be the first post of my summer post challenge. This might be a little harder than I thought it might be. But I'm going to give it my best shot! Summer: the time when it starts getting hot outside, plants start to get that dark green color, gardens start to come alive, and the best feeling in the world is to take your shoes off and go barefoot in the grass. Then there's the food. Summer nights with nice cold fruit smoothies or a bowl of summer fruit is pretty much my favorite. But to go along with 'Fruit of Summer', something I've been thinking about is how much things can change in one summer. Last summer was so full of change. God tought me so much and I saw a lot of spiritual fruit in my life and I'm so excited to see what fruit I'll see this summer. Hope everyone has a fruitful summer and I pray that each and everyone of you allow God to teach you something life changing this summer!
Well, I'm officially done with school the semester! Just took my last final last night! I can now throw away all of those biology flashcards and move on to bigger and better things. (in other words...something fun instead of school!) So! As a kick off to summer I have an announcement! I'm going to try a summer blog challenge. One post a week! We'll see how it goes but I have several ideas and several things going on this summer that will allow me to have something to actually talk about! :-D But for now, all I have to say is HAPPY SUMMER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! May you have a summer full of adventure in God's beautiful creation!

About Me
Hi! My name is Bethany. I'm so glad you've stopped in at my little corner of the internet! By way of introduction, I am a wife, musician, teacher, coffee lover, baker, nature lover, writer, and most importantly, I am a follower of Jesus. I'm super thankful that the Lord has given me this little outlet to share some of the things He has taught me, things that have inspired me, changed me or just gotten me excited about living life. My prayer is that what you read and see here will be an encouragement to your heart, bring you joy, and maybe even inspire you! Archives
