Several years ago, I was given a harmonica. I loved that thing so much, and I played it all the time. However, things got busy...and I kinda' forgot I even had it. A couple of weeks ago, our choir director started getting things going for our parent's dinner. This years theme is Western. She asked if anyone played harmonica and here I am...pulling out my old friend and seeing if there is any hope of getting a sound out of it again! I never did like to play my harmonica in front of people, and it was one of those instruments that very few friends knew I played, but I guess it's time to bring it out the wood work! I'm having loads of fun with it!

It's amazing when God tests me and in the midst of His testing He puts a song or a line from a song in my head that just keeps playing over and over in my mind!
I can now say that I've been to an opera. Friday night my sister Grace was playing in the orchestra for an opera that was being performed at her college. (The orchestra did a great job by the way!) Anyways, Grace had gotten a comp ticket so she gave it to me and we made it a sister's night! It was great! The Opera was "The Magic Flute!" I'm not going to lie. The story line was a little bit cheesy but hey, it's an opera right!? Definitely worth my time! The performers did an amazing job! I wish I had pictures but we weren't allowed to take them...but, if you ever get a chance to go to an opera, GO! It was a great experience!
Grace, thanks for letting your lil' sis tag along! Last night in church we sang "No One Ever Cared For Me Like Jesus" It has been running through my head ever sense. If you don't know the song, look it up and read the words. They are so comforting and powerful!
This morning I woke up and really didn't want to get myself going...i just wanted to sleep in and forget about school, practice, and all the things I had to do. That accompanied with the fact that my last school day hadn't gone so well just kicked me down even further. I forced myself out of bed and a few minutes later I was doing my personal devotions, and was reading in Lamentations. When i started, I was thinking "What could I possibly get out of Lamentations. It is such a depressing book." Then I got to Lamentations 3:22-25 22. It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. 23. They are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness. 24. The Lord is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will i hope in Him. 25. The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh Him.
As I read these verses (specifically verse 23) I realized that today was a new day, and the Lord would grant mercy to me to get through a full morning of school because like it says "His mercies are new every morning: great is Thy faithfulness" It really encouraged and lifted me up! Not only did I have those verses running through my head all morning, but the song "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" also began to run through my head. I found myself singing through the morning! The Lord knew exactly what I needed to read this morning! If you are having a bad day, just remember the Lord is faithful, He is is your portion and you can hope in Him! "Great Is Thy Faithfulness" Great is thy faithfulness, O God my Father, There is no shadow of turning with Thee; Thou changest not, Thy compassions, they fail not As Thou hast been Thou forever wilt be. Great is Thy faithfulness! Great is Thy faithfulness! Morning by morning new mercies I see; All I have needed Thy hand hath provided. Great is Thy Faithfulness, Lord, unto me! |
