I've decided to kick of this new season with a new kind of post. I love looking at blogs that have monthly, bimonthly, or seasonal favorites. Its a great way to get new ideas, find useful products, good books, etc. So Here's just a few of my fall favorites. Fashion: Ok, this is one of my favorite fall outfit this year. Because I live in GA and it doesn't get very hot here, it is so easy to get away with wearing short sleeves and I'm SO into T-shirt dresses with leggings right now! This is another one of my favorite go to fall outfits for those cooler days that occasionally...more like rarely come to GA. I love the dark blue with the coral. probably one of my favorite color combos right now. Coffee: Ok, as always, my favorite drink right now is the Salted Caramel Mocha from Starbucks. I'm not into the whole pumpkin spice craze. Really not a fan...so, the few times that I go to Starbucks, a Salted Caramel Mocha for sure the drink that I get in the Fall Season. But lets be real. I don't have money to go to Starbucks very much because I'm a broke college student. So I make my own coffee drinks at home! With all that I said about not liking the pumpkin spice lattes, I think I just don't like the pumpkin part because the spices are really good! So, at home, I love making what I'm going to call spice lattes. (Leaving out the pumpkin flavor.) So great! So, to go along with this favorite drink, my new favorite kitchen tool is this milk frother. It is perfect of making lattes. Such a fan. (Post coming soon for my 'recipe' for my Spice Latte.) I was inspired by Nia Rader. Her family does vlogs on YouTube, and she's been making lattes constantly. I just had to try it. And lemme just tell you. They're so good. And so cheap to make at home. Candles: Ok, so I'm not a huge candle person. I love the idea of candles, but unfortunately I'm allergic to most candle scents. However, this particular one doesn't give me a headache at all and I. LOVE. IT. It is MainStays Hazelnut Cream Candle. It smells SO good. You can find these at Walmart, Target, Online...pretty much anywhere that sells other such scented things. Hahaha. (Side story.) I came home the other day from pretty much the longest day of my semester thus far, and found this on my bed. Needless to say, this made my day. My sister is the greatest! Thanks Ashley! My Desk: I know...I know...such a college person thing to say...But seriously, I love my desk. I try to keep it pretty clean so that I can allow myself to get things done...and I just love it. Bullet Journaling: I am relatively new to the whole bullet journaling world, but I love it so much. It is super helpful with my scheduling, and really, the fun side of it just allows me to relax and get creative. I'm not expert and my bullet journal is probably the most unconventional one you've ever seen, but its awesome and I love it. I never knew how much I liked drawing and doodling until I started doing bullet journal type things, and Im definitely not good a drawing but it's fun. So now I'm a definite fan! Concept: So this one is a little different from what most people put in their "Favorites" list, but this is just something that I've been thinking about a lot. And I want to share it because my God is SO good to me. So my favorite concept right now is the concept of God's love for me. It sounds almost common place to most people in my circles. But, just take a moment and think about that phrase. GOD LOVES ME. Over the past few months God has displayed His love to me in different ways that have completely renewed my view on the Love of my King. His love is personal, protective, boundless, incomprehensible, overwhelming, and completely mind boggling. I have come to believe that, in order to experience a new level of God's love, you MUST come to the complete end of yourself with a realization of your dire need for God's love. (I might post more on that later.) But for now, going hand in hand with that concept and attribute of God, "The King of Love" is officially my favorite song right now. Well, that's about all I have time to share right now. There are a few more things that I could post if I had time...but I don't...(Thanks school...)
Anyway, lave me a comment with some of your fall favorites! I'd love to hear about them. To all you college students, keep going y'all! We're almost half way through the semester!! Happy Fall Y'all!!!!!

Well with Hurricane Irma, school was closed so I took the opportunity to make myself a cup of coffee and do some baking. Let me just tell you, it was 100% worth it! Here's the recipe I made! (Also, I got the basic recipe off of Pinterest. However, if you know me you know that I never leave a recipe unchanged. So here's my version of the recipe!) Ingredients: 1 and 1/2 cups Flour 1 and 1/2 tsp Baking Powder 1/2 tsp Baking Soda 1/2 tsp Salt 3 Bananas mashed (As ripe as possible) 1 Egg 1/2 cup Peanut Butter 1/4 cup Olive Oil 1/3 cup White Sugar 1/4 cup Brown Sugar 1 tsp Vanilla 1/3 cup Peanut Butter Chips 1/2 cup Chocolate chips 3 spoonfuls of Nutella Directions: Preheat your oven to 350 and spray a 9x5" bread pan with non-stick spray. Whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. In a larger bowl combine the bananas, egg, peanut butter, oil, sugars, and vanilla. Add the dry ingredients to the wet. Fold in the dry ingredients until just combined, being careful not to over mix. Next fold in all your peanut butter chips and chocolate chips. Transfer to your bread pan. Add the three spoonfuls of Nutella on top and swirl them in with a knife. (Side note; Make sure that you mix up your Nutella before spooning out. Nutella tends to separate a little and getting just the really stiff and set up Nutella will make it really hard to swirl it.) Pop that puppy into the oven for 50 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean! Let your bread cool in the pan for 20-30 minutes. I know the temptation is to just dig right in, but trust me it will be worth the wait. Take a knife and run it along the edges of the pan and then turn your bread out onto a flat surface then carefully flip over and then it is ready to cut. **If you don't wait long enough the Nutella won't set up enough after baking and it might cause your loaf to split open when you turn it out** (It'll still taste amazing...) Hope y'all enjoy! Leave me a comment and let me know if you tried it or not! It's super easy and can be modified basically in any way you want! Play with it and have fun!
Hope everyone is staying safe out there! It's been a long time, but Hannah and I finally got together and concocted a new recipe! Some day we will actually come up with a cool name for them, but for now we're just going to stick with "Bakery Style Mocha Muffins!" We had so much fun today! It has been WAY too long. So, without further commentary, here's the recipe!
Ingredients: 2 & 3/4 cups all-purpose flour 1 tbsp Baking Powder 1 tsp Baking Soda 1/2 tsp salt 1 tbsp Coco Powder 1/2 cup unsalted butter 1 cup Sugar 2 large Eggs 3/4 cup whole milk 1/3 cup Expresso 1 tbsp vanila extract 2 cups of chocolate chips (of your choice.) Instructions: Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Spray muffin tins with non stick spray. In a large mixing bowl combine flour, baking powered, baking soda, salt, coco powder and chocolate chips. Mix until well combined. In a separate bowl combine expresso, milk, melted but cooled butter, sugar and vanilla. Once thoroughly combined, gradually fold the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Fold in until just combined. Spoon into muffin tins about 3/4 the way full. Bake in the oven at 425 for 5 minutes then reduce heat to 375 then bake for 12 minutes. Check with a toothpick. If the toothpick comes out clean they're done! Let them cool for 5-10 minutes then remove them from your pan. ENJOY!!!! |
